Sixth Form Open Evening

 

Thursday 23rd November  6.00pm – 8.00pm

 

Students in year 11 at The Blandford School and other
schools are invited to attend our Sixth Form Open Evening. There will be a main
presentation in the school hall by Mr Smith (Deputy Headteacher) and Mrs Moore
(Head of Sixth Form) at 6.00pm. After the presentation there will be an
opportunity for you to speak to subject teachers, current students and the
Sixth Form team about the courses available in the Sixth Form to help you
decide on the best options for your education following your GCSEs in 2024.

    Welcome to our Sixth Form Open Evening Webpage.

    Below you will find all of the information you need to support you making choices about your post 16 study.

    There is a welcome video from Mrs Moore, Head of Sixth Form, outlining what TBS has to offer and the benefits of choosing to study with us. There is also a video from Mr Smith outlining the TBS curriculum offer and then a video from each subject detailing what you will learn about in Year 12 and 13.

    Alongside this is our 6th Form Options booklet and our options form, showing our option blocks, plus an email link for each subject should you have any further questions.

    TBS students obviously remain welcome to speak to Mr Smith, Mrs Moore, Subject Leaders and Subject teachers while they are in school should they have any questions.

     Students from other schools should contact Mrs Moore, our Head of Sixth Form, via vmoore@blandfordschool.org.uk to arrange a virtual meeting or discuss their application.

    SCHOOL CLOSURE INFORMATION

    Dear Parent/Carer

    On the advice of Dorset Council, due to storm Eunice all schools in Dorset have been advised to close due to the Red Weather Warning in place for Dorset from the Met Office.  Therefore, The Blandford School will be closed in line with this advice on Friday, 18 February and no school transport will be running throughout Dorset.  School will reopen on Monday, 28 February 2022.

     

    For Friday, 18 February work will be set for students by teachers on TEAMS.

     

    We hope you all have an enjoyable half term and look forward to seeing students again on Monday, 28 February 2022.
