Scholarships

2023-24 Scholarships on 27th November and close on 15th December*

For the sixth year in a row we are delighted to be able to offer a selection of scholarships to our Sixth Form. Students can only hold one scholarship, however they may apply for up to two. Scholarships will be offered on a conditional basis after an interview process.

opening date for submitting your application is 27th N
ovember and
the closing date is 15th December 2023
Your letter of application should include your predicted grades, choice of Level 3 courses with reasons, how you feel you would use the scholarship money to support you whilst in the sixth form (an outline of this would be good) and any current ideas you have for university or employment after sixth form. Please give the name of a reference teacher. 

Interviews will take place in January.

  • PCA Scholarship

Academic Scholarship

This scholarship is worth up to £250 and reflects the academic ethos of The Blandford School. Scholarship offers of this kind are likely to be conditional on the achievement of certain GCSE results.

Sports Scholarship

This scholarship is also worth up to £250, which is available to contribute towards travel expenses, coaching sessions, new equipment etc. To qualify for this scholarship students must be studying either A Level PE or CTEC Sport.

PCA Scholarship

Worth up to £250, the PCA Scholarship is available to contribute towards tuition, travel expenses, head shots, school trips etc. To qualify for this scholarship students must be studying at least one Performing & Creative Arts subjects at A Level.

SCHOOL CLOSURE INFORMATION

Dear Parent/Carer

On the advice of Dorset Council, due to storm Eunice all schools in Dorset have been advised to close due to the Red Weather Warning in place for Dorset from the Met Office.  Therefore, The Blandford School will be closed in line with this advice on Friday, 18 February and no school transport will be running throughout Dorset.  School will reopen on Monday, 28 February 2022.

 

For Friday, 18 February work will be set for students by teachers on TEAMS.

 

We hope you all have an enjoyable half term and look forward to seeing students again on Monday, 28 February 2022.
