TBS News Story

The Year 13 Business students put a great deal of time in November & December of last year toward their Christmas card project for the National Autistic Society.

We’re thrilled to announce they beat their goal of £133 and managed to raise a grand total of £483.36! “Raising that much money for a charity by selling a handmade product is an amazing achievement and is a testament to their hard work!” – Ms Merritt, Business Teacher.

Erin and Nalin – Joint Project Managers that kept everyone on task. They lead weekly meetings to ensure everyone knew what they were supposed to be achieving each week, so all deadlines were met throughout.

Emily – The amazing Designer who created the 5 unique card designs that won over all the customers resulting in high sales volume.

Alanna – Production Manager who worked with Mr Kennedy in Reprographics to get all the cards printed to a high quality. Alanna was a great problem solver and communicator that enabled the team to overcome several printing challenges yet kept the production of the cards flowing so cards were always ready for delivery.

James – The Lead Marketing Manager that created the marketing materials and ensured they were placed in all the school’s marketing channels on time. Due to the diverse way the cards were marketed, this lead to high demand and high sales turnover.

Ryan – Supported James by ensuring posters were hung around the school in the best locations, so they were always visible to a high number of students. Whenever posters were mistakenly taken down, Ryan recognized this straight away and was immediately out, hanging up more posters.

Caitlin – The Sales Manager that ensured all cards were delivered according to the advertised delivery schedule and she actioned any issues customers had with receiving their cards. She also kept track of the weekly card sales to ensure that the team reached its goal.

Soij and Trinton – The Finance Managers that took the lead on creating an investor presentation that secured the start-up money required to make the project a success. They created the project’s budget and ensured the highest quality; lowest cost resources were purchased.

A huge well done to these students for all their effort with this project!
