Welcome to Sixth Form

The Blandford School Sixth Form is the perfect choice for students. It is big enough to offer a wide range of courses and opportunities, yet small enough to ensure that all students are known and supported as individuals to help them achieve their goals at the end of their courses. If there is a course that we do not offer that you are interested in please see Mr Smith or Mrs Moore so that we can discuss suitable alternatives.  

TBS students leave us to attend prestigious universities, apprenticeships and employment options. In 2023, 2024 and 2025 every student who wanted to go to university was successful in gaining a place. Looking at data from the last three years; approximately three quarters of our students gained university places.

Destinations include Cambridge, Oxford, Exeter, Bristol, Durham, Cardiff and many many more with students studying a wide variety of course including medicine, veterinary sciences, biomedical sciences, midwifery, nursing, physiotherapy, business, economics, psychology as well as areas from the creative industry. Other students have gone onto Nursing Degree Apprenticeships with the NHS, Police apprenticeships, a Higher Apprenticeship with Lloyds Bank and a Degree apprenticeship with UCB (a global biopharmaceutical company). 

Nationally accredited reports show that the progress students make is in the top 10% of schools nationally (state and independent). The results of our year 13 students are consistently high.   

On top of all of this the school offers a wide range of enrichment opportunities from supporting volunteering opportunities and work experience to Young Enterprise, Drama productions, Sports Leaders Qualifications, the Duke of Edinburgh Award and Sports Teams. 2025 has also seen the opening of our new dedicated Sixth Form Centre.
