Students Inspired at The Blandford School's First Ever Careers Fair

The Blandford School was delighted to welcome more than 35 employers, universities, colleges, charities, public services and training providers to our first ever Careers Fair, giving students an exciting opportunity to explore the wide range of pathways available after school.

Throughout the day, students from across the school met with exhibitors, asked thoughtful questions and discovered opportunities in higher education, apprenticeships, further education and a huge variety of careers. The Main Hall was buzzing with conversation as students explored future possibilities and made valuable connections.

The event was a fantastic success and has already received outstanding feedback from exhibitors.

The Royal Signals Corps Engagement Team described it as:

"One of the best careers fairs attended this year for our team."

They praised the event for being exceptionally well organised, highlighting the smooth arrival and set-up process, the clear table layout and the welcoming atmosphere. They also commented on the support provided by staff throughout the day and were particularly impressed by our students, describing them as polite, engaged and asking excellent questions.

The team noted how refreshing it was to meet so many students – including those in Year 9 – who already had clear ideas about their future career aspirations. They also said the event provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the careers available within their organisation.

When asked what could be improved, they simply replied that there was nothing to suggest, apart from the heat, which was beyond anyone's control!

They have already confirmed they would be delighted to return for future Careers Fairs and are keen to support The Blandford School with careers talks, workplace visits, work experience, mock interviews and STEM workshops.

They concluded their feedback by saying:

"Keep up the good work. The school was very accommodating."
