A Royal Visit to Remember
Thursday 16 July was a memorable day for Blandford Forum as His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla visited the town, celebrating its rich heritage, thriving community and recent regeneration projects.
The Blandford School was proud to be represented by Headteacher, Mr Jones, and five students, who were invited to join pupils from across the Blandford Schools Network to welcome Their Majesties.
The royal visit included a tour of the recently renovated Corn Exchange, a visit to the historic Hall & Woodhouse Brewery, and the opportunity to meet a wide range of local businesses and community organisations at a specially arranged farmers' market.
Among those showcasing their work were Sweetpea Florist, From Dorset With Love, and The Book & Bucket Cheese Company – all of which have strong links to The Blandford School through families whose children attend the school. It was wonderful to see members of our wider school community playing such an important role in the day's celebrations and proudly representing the very best of local enterprise.
Our students were delighted to be part of this special occasion, representing the school with confidence and pride while joining the community in giving Their Majesties a warm Blandford welcome.
It was a fantastic day that highlighted the strength of our local community, celebrated the success of local businesses, and showcased everything that makes Blandford Forum such a special place to live, work and learn.
