CARRERS UPDATE  19 June 2020

College and apprenticeship applications

All of our local colleges are still accepting applications for both apprenticeships and full-time courses. Please submit applications to the colleges directly and they will advise you on their current application process as this varies from college to college as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

All students considering embarking on an apprenticeship this year should consider having a back-up/plan B of a 6th form or college place.  Not all colleges automatically offer students a back up of a college course so you MUST make the college aware of this. Especially important to have a plan B this year as 31% fewer apprenticeship opportunities are available this year than last due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

www.apprenticeships.gov.uk and www.findapprenticeship.gov.uk  are the websites that all interested students should check regularly and consider registering with.

Examples of apprenticeship vacancies available in DT11 district today:

  • Engineering Apprentice – Bristol Maid
  • Travel Consultant – Hays Travel
  • Customer Service Apprentice – Bristol Maid
